Chicken Coop
Summer 2007 - Summer 2008 - Summer 2009

August 9, 2009:  After a hiatus of nearly a year, we got back to it.  Earlier in the summer, John and I got the lower (North) chicken yard fenced.  Today we started back in on finishing the coop.  We focused on setting up, locating materials, and sheathing the inside walls.

August 15, 2009:  Over the past days, we have built nesting boxes, access doors and built the step and landing for the human entrance.

This is one last shot of the hens in their old coop roost.  The plan is to pressure wash this mess out and turning this into a storage shed.

August 17, 2009 - Although not complete, we have finished the inside and gotten the chicken wire on the yard.  This evening we moved the chickens into their new home.  I still have to install bird blocking in the eaves and the bats on the exterior walls.  Then I have to address feed storage, rain gutters, and possibly an electrical light.
